Abstract
La chute du Mur de Berlin a déclenché une révolution pacifique d’une ampleur inédite en Europe : l’Allemagne s’est unifiée, l’empire soviétique s’est effondré, les équilibres géopolitiques ont été profondément bouleversés et, enfin, la volonté des peuples d’Europe centrale et orientale d’un « retour » à l’Europe ont permis sa réunification. Le grand défi désormais pour la nouvelle génération de dirigeants européens est de parfaire l’union des peuples européens par l’organisation librement consentie de la paix et de la coopération sur le continent tout entier. Cependant, la recomposition du continent européen ne doit pas se faire au prix du renoncement à une Union européenne ambitieuse.
