Abstract
\nIn this thesis, we evaluated the effect of natural disturbances (fire and gaps) on the \ngenetic and clonai diversity of trembling aspen and to compare it with that of different \nJogging intensities. More precisely, we attempted to: (1) follow aspen genetic and clonai \nstructure with time at the stand level after major (fire) and secondary (canopy gaps) \ndisturbances; (2) build a model to estimate the Joss of aspen genets over long temporal scales \nand under different fire cycles at the stand and Jandscape levels; (3) determine the spatial \ndistribution of aspen genetic and clonai diversity at the stand level (1 ha) in relation with the \nspatial distribution of aspen cohorts originating from major (fire) and secondary (gaps) \ndisturbances; and ( 4) assess the effect of clear-cutting and one-third partial cutting with \nselection on aspen clonai diversity. We used four microsatellite loci specifie for aspen for \ngenetic identification. Genetic analysis indicated that aspen maintains a high genetic and \nclonai diversity along the successional gradient despite its vegetative reproduction mode. \nSimulations at the stand level showed that aspen genotypic diversity expressed by the ratio \ngenets/samples increases progressively within the first 150 years after fire, but stabilizes at \nabout 0.83 afterward. This was mainly linked to the recruitment of a large number of genets \nimmediately after fire, to the recurrent recruitment of the se genets in the gaps in the absence \nof fire, and to an important intraclonal competition with time since fire. At the landscape \nleve!, genet Joss increases with time since fire and as the fire cycle gets longer. Management \npractices based on even-aged short forest rotations seem to have an effect similar to that of \nfires on aspen genet survival. Most ramets of one genet are aggregated within a distance of 30 \nrn, but genets are closely intermixed. Both the spatial genetic structure and the spatial \ndistribution of aspen trees within cohorts tend toward a more random spatial distribution with \ntime since frre, most probably in relation with the decrease in aspen density and the increase \nof vegetation competition from one cohort to another. Management practices based on clearcutting \nfavor a strong regeneration of a large number of genets, while one-third partial cutting \nseem to reduce genet suckering with a stronger recruitment of genets favored by \nenvironmental conditions.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
