Abstract
De plus en plus de centres hospitaliers et de réadaptation intègrent la sexualité dans leur mandat; certains d'entre eux ont élaboré une politique en la matière ou souhaitent le faire. À partir de l'étude des politiques recensées, Fauteur discute des composantes de la politique: sa légitimité, sa nécessité, son contenu et son implantation. La majorité des politiques consultées s'articulent autour d'une conception de la sexualité comme problème. La politique est alors conçue comme un instrument de normalisation et de contrôle social. Un autre paradigme est proposé: concevoir la sexualité d'une manière positive en termes de qualité de vie sexuelle à améliorer. Dès lors, la politique s'intéresse davantage au sens de la sexualité qu'aux normes et règles sexuelles. Cette deuxième conception élargit le champ de la politique institutionnelle, de la sexualité-problème à la sexualité-santé.
