Abstract
União e estados brasileiros enfrentam o uso e a contaminação de águas subterrâneas como desafios comuns ao seu gerenciamento, seja como recurso hídrico, seja como água mineral. Nesse sentido, mais do que desejável, é necessária a cooperação interinstitucional, envolvendo compartilhamento de informações técnicas, atuação conjunta em fiscalização e monitoramento dos usos outorgados e proposição de estudos visando à restrição e controle do uso de águas subterrâneas. Esta é a essência do Termo de Cooperação Técnica, recentemente celebrado entre a Superintendência de São Paulo do Departamento Nacional de Produção Mineral – entidade que gerencia as águas minerais – e o Departamento de Águas e Energia Elétrica – órgão gestor dos recursos hídricos no Estado de São Paulo.
