Abstract
Observamos, hoje, a existência de expressões do racismo que conduzem a problemáticas que “dizem” o político, a cidade, a cidadania, bem como o modo de integração/assimilação dos estrangeiros e dos imigrantes. É neste sentido que podemos nos interrogar sobre o que nos revela a figura do imigrante no Quebec contemporâneo e quais são os desafios para a construção de uma nova quebecidade, na medida em que esses novos habitantes desempenham um papel cada vez mais significativo na constituição dos discursos identitários sobre o Quebec. Nosso principal objetivo é o de contribuir para a discussão sobre o estatuto de cidadão concedido ao imigrante para o futuro do Quebec, propondo a idéia que, no mundo contemporâneo, existe uma nova cidadania que está se constituindo. Résumé: on remarque, aujourd’hui, l’existence des expressions du racisme qui conduisent vers des problématiques que disent le politique, la ville, la citoyenneté ainsi que le mode d’intégration/assimilation des étrangers et des immigrants. C´est en ce sens qu’on peut se demander ce que révèle la figure de l’immigrant dans le Québec contemporain et quels sont les enjeux pour la construction d´une nouvelle québecité, dans la mesure où ces nouveaux arrivants jouent de plus en plus un rôle considérable dans la constitution des discours identitaires sur le Québec. Cela peut contribuer à la discussion sur le statut de citoyen accordé à l´immigrant dans l´avenir du Québec, à partir du constat qu´une nouvelle citoyenneté est en train de se constituer.
