Abstract
Les établissements exportateurs et ceux sous contrôle étranger payent-ils mieux leurs travailleurs que les établissements non exportateurs et ceux sous contrôle canadien? La présente étude s'appuie sur un ensemble de données sur les employeurs et les employés pour déterminer s'il y a un avantage salarial à travailler pour un établissement exportateur ou sous contrôle étranger dans le secteur canadien de la fabrication. Le commerce et l'investissement étranger direct (IED) sont des éléments fondamentaux du processus de mondialisation. Au cours des 50 dernières années, les défenseurs d'une plus grande libéralisation des échanges et de l'IED ont soutenu que la suppression d'obstacles à ces deux activités stimule la croissance économique. Une foule de travaux s'appuyant sur de nouveaux fichiers de microdonnées ont été effectués pour comparer le niveau de productivité des établissements exportateurs à celui des établissements non exportateurs, et le niveau de productivité des établissements sous contrôle étranger à celui des établissements sous contrôle canadien.
