Abstract
Ce texte examine la structure du chômage au Québec en termes de durée, de fréquence et de concentration du chômage. La méthodologie adoptée est celle développée par Clark et Summers pour les États-Unis, qui a été reprise par Hasan et De Broucker pour le Canada. Les résultats les plus frappants sont la proportion élevée du chômage causé par les longues périodes de chômage et la part relativement élevée du chômage qui se termine par des sorties de la population active. Ce dernier phénomène s’observe plus particulièrement chez les jeunes et chez les femmes.
