Historical Studies in Education/Revue d'bistoire de !'education highly significant in the history of British Columbia's educational system. The older Sparling would die before acquiring a lasting presence in the province's public school system, but Straight would head the first "urban efficiency bureau" in the Canadian public school system, and King become head of Canada's first junior high school, and later Chief Inspector of Schools.
