Abstract
Cet article a pour ambition d’apporter un éclairage sur les capacités de la rationalité discursive face à la situation exceptionnelle de l’expérience concentrationnaire. L’hypothèse qui y est formulée est que cette expérience extrême est l’occasion de questionner la modernité sur la conception de la rationalité dont elle a hérité. Plus précisément, on essaie de montrer par des analyses rhétoriques et discursives que la fonction narrative du témoignage se comprend d’autant mieux quand on la replace dans la tradition de la rationalité indiciaire à laquelle la modernité aurait peut-être trop rapidement tourné le dos. Finalement, il y va d’une conception générale du rôle que peut endosser le témoignage dans les différentes institutions de la société.
