Abstract
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja koncepcji przedsiębiorcy transnarodowego, powiązań transnarodowych i przekazów społecznych jako użytecznych ram definicyjnych dla opisu działań osób współpracujących z organizacjami marketingu wielopoziomowego. Na przykładzie fragmentów dwóch narracji życiowych – Beaty z Chicago i Pawła z Toronto – pokazane zostało, jak migranci w warunkach uogólnionej niepewności wykorzystują swój kapitał społeczny, szczególnie więzi z osobami w kraju pochodzenia, w celach biznesowych. Sama transnarodowa działalność biznesowa, obok korzyści ekonomicznych, służy również podtrzymywaniu więzi z rodziną i znajomymi w kraju. Artykuł bazuje na materiałach z badań etnograficznych przeprowadzonych wśród sprzedawców bezpośrednich Amway i Mary Kay Cosmetics.
