Abstract
Este trabalho faz uma análise da conjuntura histórica e cultural do filme Oktiabr, que traduzido para o português significa Outubro, do cineasta russo Sergei Eisenstein, destinado a contar a Revolução Russa, ocorrida no ano de 1917. Apresenta também os movimentos culturais e os artistas que foram imprescindíveis para que sua carreira triunfasse. Utilizou o teatro e a cultura oriental, princípios para compor suas obras. Participou do Construtivismo Russo e objetivava fazer filmes destinados às massas, com alto grau de intelectualidade e criticidade. Criou e aperfeiçoou novos conceitos relacionados à montagem, com a presença de simbolismos, metonímias e metáforas. Por meio de sua montagem, Eisenstein cumpriu um papel crucial na cinematografia mundial. Para comprovar essa hipótese, foram levantadas imagens do filme Oktiabr, análises bibliográficas, sobretudo da década de 20, tendo como base central o Construtivismo Russo e a própria teoria eisensteiniana como método de investigação científica das relações históricas e culturais daquela conjuntura
