Abstract
Le contexte social de désinstitutionnalisation pousse les individus à se responsabiliser, c'est-à-dire à faire des choix de vie qui engagent leur identité et leurs proches. Les débuts de l'âge adulte sont un moment particulièrement fort d'engagements au sein de la famille, du couple et du milieu de vie. Ces engagements sont envisagés ici comme des pratiques de responsabilité faisant partie du processus de socialisation de l'âge adulte au même titre que la prise d'autonomie et d'indépendance. Il est démontré que les liens de responsabilité des jeunes adultes se développent à travers trois modalités : le rapport à soi, le rapport aux autres et le rapport aux institutions.
