Abstract
Dans leur présentation, les auteures analysent quelques-unes des inégalités sociales dont sont victimes les personnes retraitées, à la lumière des recherches sur la stratification sociale des âges. Stratification particulièrement discriminatoire à l'égard des personnes âgées si l'on examine les disparités de classe et de sexe, la ségrégation de la troisième strate, le rejet de la collectivité active, la stigmatisation de l'âgisme, tous facteurs importants dans la définition sociale du vieillissement.
