Integrated continuous-time filter using averaging-detectors in the tuning circuit

Abstract
A 20-kHz continuous-time low-pass filter with amplitude-detection tuning realized in a standard 3-micron CMOS process is described. A simple seven-transistor averaging-type amplitude detector circuit is used in the tuning scheme. Its advantages over a similar scheme using precision rectifiers as amplitude detectors is given. The tuning circuit maintains the filter cutoff frequency to better than 1% of the designed value as the temperature was varied from 0 degrees to 70 degrees C.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
