Abstract
L'insertion des jeunes en France est apparue comme un enjeu societal et politique tout au long de ces vingt dernières années. De nouveaux principes d'action politique ont été énoncés, les professionnels de l'insertion ont construit des compétences sur des modes divers « avec » et « sans » les jeunes. Les jeunes, de leur côté, ont développé une diversité de compétences plus ou moins « visibles » aux yeux des acteurs publics. Entre les jeunes et les professionnels de l'insertion, des compétences peuvent s'échanger mais celles des jeunes peuvent aussi être discriminées ; selon les types d'interactions, le processus d'insertion des jeunes peut être accéléré ou ralenti.
