Abstract
Organization discourse studies refers to a multidisciplinary domain that looks at the ways in which language and meaning shape organizational phenomena. Organization discourse scholars generally share a process orientation toward the nature of organization—hence their focus on organizing and on the key role that language and practices play in its constitution. Organization discourse refers (1) either to the situated talk and text in organizing or language in use in the daily interactions of organizational members, (2) or to the organizational reality as it is constructed, maintained, reproduced, and even imposed on organizational members through discursive formations recognizable in various domains of practices, professional cultures or organization fields. The most common discourse phenomena investigated in the study of organizations are conversations, narratives, and organizational rhetoric.
