Abstract
The plague was the periodic scourge of medieval and modern populations.It'sone of the most dramatic human experiences; its origin is misterious; its route schadowy; its presence brigs threat and terror and above all fiels covered by death. Behind this presence comes the explanation: divine punishment; the adversary's treachery, propitiation of God in search of mercy; supplication to protecting saints from whom help and healing are expected . Lastly, the social and political manipulation comes ; the calamity becomes an argument, a judicial proof of the basis for claim. The population must revive revive and recover its social role an demand positive measures fom the authorities. We van see this at a very precise historical moment an place; Galicia in the last quarter of the XVI century, particularly in the town of Noya.
