Abstract
Este artículo aborda en primer lugar la problemática del repertorio del teatro latinoamericano y el lugar de la obrade Daniel Gallegos dentro de este posible corpus, definido bajo el concepto de “clásicos del teatro latinoamericano”.Se aborda una breve discusión sobre el lugar de las distintas dramaturgias de los países y de las regiones de AméricaLatina y su escasa circulación y escenificación como corpus integrado, lo que deja como resultado aparente un escasointercambio cultural en el nivel dramatúrgico continental. Al situar la obra de Daniel Gallegos y al explicar por quése la elige para una nueva puesta en escena con la Compañía Nacional de Teatro de Costa Rica, en el marco del FIA(Festival Internacional de las Artes), se pone de manifiesto la relación entre el texto dramático y la representación,bajo la elección de una estética neo-expresionista. Finalmente se da cuenta de la construcción escénica a partir deltexto dramático En el Séptimo Círculo.
