Abstract
Sans dénier l’impact du néo-polar sur la tradition française du roman policier, sur la création romanesque non-sérielle et sur l’intérêt de la critique universitaire, on reprend la question de la modernité à travers la représentation de la ville (Paris, banlieues, petites villes de province) non pas dans le cadre d’un moment générique (le néo-polar et son destin) mais dans celui d’une période socio-politique (1958-1981). Tout en enregistrant la rupture introduite par le néo-polar, cela permet aussi la contextualiser, de relever d’intéressantes fissures de part et d’autre de cette ligne de faille.
