Abstract
Cet article propose de comparer trois textes de la Renaissance française (1545 à 1550) portant sur le deuil de Vénus à la mort d’Adonis, privilégiant une approche thanatogénétique qui postule l’inextricable corrélation entre la mort et la (re)naissance. La métaphysique reposant sur la séparation et l’opposition du logos rationnel et du mythe, la thanatogenèse s’applique à démystifier la pensée unificatrice et réductrice pour laisser place au dédoublement qui affirme l’association du mythos et du logos, du féminin et du masculin. L’examen des trois poèmes permet de repérer ce qui constitue soit une conception imitative du mythe grec dans la perspective néoplatonicienne, soit une conception fusionnelle du mythe et du logos dans une perspective chrétienne, ou encore une conception originale de la résolution de la crise tragique par l’avènement d’un logos poétique rééquilibrant les forces en présence.
