Abstract
Yves Bergeron va ser director del servei d’investigacio i avaluacio del Museu de la Civilitzacio del Quebec de 1999 a 2005. Actualment es professor de museologia al Departament d'historia de l'art de la Universitat de Quebec a Montreal. El seu text proposa una mirada sobre l'evolucio dels museus d’etnografia i els museus de societat a Canada en el transcurs dels ultims 40 anys. L'autor retrata la genesi del Museo de la Civilitzacio del Quebec que s'ha convertit en un model de referencia per als museus de societat des del 1988. S'analitzen els factors que van permetre a aquest museu distingir-se en el context particular del Quebec, el focus de cultura francesa a Canada. Les similituds entre el Quebec i Catalunya permeten entendre en el context de la mundialitzacio els elements que estan en joc en aquests museus de petites nacions.
