On sait l’immense intérêt que l’histoire de la guerre de 1812 a suscité en Russie et dans l’ancienne URSS aux XIXe et XXe siècles. Or, en dépit de la riche littérature rédigée en russe, les études sur la participation des différentes régions de la Russie à la guerre et leur contribution à la victoire contre la Grande armée ont fait défaut.
