Abstract
O presente artigo trata da proposta de redução da contribuição previdenciária sobre a folha de pagamentos anunciada pelo Poder Executivo, alertando para os efeitos que tal medida possa acarretar para o equilíbrio financeiro e atuarial do sistema previdenciário brasileiro.Embora se espere benefícios à economia do país com a redução pretendida, teme-se desequilíbrios nas contas da previdência social que, futuramente, sejam compensados com mudanças nas regras de acesso aos benefícios.Indaga-se, ainda, sobre eventual ajuste no fator previdenciário, que tem como uma de suas variáveis a alíquota de contribuição.Por fim, tem-se uma reflexão sobre qual o sistema de financiamento da previdência no Brasil: o de natureza contributiva com critérios atuariais ou um modelo baseado no financiamento por impostos gerais.
