Abstract
[ES] Esta tesis analiza el fenómeno de la religiosidad popular en una comunidad de origen indígena situada en la región Mixteca del estado de Oaxaca, en México. Se analiza el fenómeno, tomando en cuenta su conformación a partir de dos raíces básicas, la mesoamericana y la hispánica, enlazadas a raíz de la Colonia y desarrolladas a lo largo de la historia, con la aportación de influencias diversas que han motivado su transformación paulatina, de modo que se estudia un fenómeno de origen premoderno en sus manifestaciones modernas. Además también se busca identificar cómo los elementos hispanos coloniales fueron transmitidos a un sistema cultural receptor generando una situación de contacto que constituyó una selección de elementos provenientes de la cultura donadora, en convivencia con elementos de la cultura dominada, para generar una nueva cultura, entre cuyas manifestaciones religiosas está la fiesta o ceremonia.
