Dans le recueil L’art de la fugue de Guillaume Corbeil, un narrateur-auteur souligne sa participation à la construction d’histoires à la narrativité éclatée. L’étude du texte « Elles détestaient Madrid » permet d’interroger la conception du récit mise en branle dans le recueil. L’objectif est de rendre compte des manifestations du narrateur-constructeur dans la nouvelle de Corbeil en observant le traitement de la temporalité et des actions, mais surtout de mettre en saillie la richesse d’une oeuvre québécoise encore jamais analysée.
