Abstract
La sociologie, tout comme les études de genre et les travaux sur le développement, ont récemment insisté sur le potentiel des approches relationnelles comme outils analytiques et méthodologiques. Ce chapitre propose de mobiliser les outils méthodologiques des approches relationnelles pour éclairer certains des effets sociaux d’un projet de développement au Yémen. Plus largement, il avance des réflexions sur le levier de transformation sociale que représente l’imbrication des relations, rôles et fonctions institués par un projet de développement avec d’autres configurations relationnelles et identitaires nuées par les acteurs impliqués. Le projet sur lequel porte cette réflexion vise à la fois la réduction de la pauvreté des femmes rurales et le renforcement de leurs « capacités » ; et le renforcement de la société civile au Yémen, en particulier les compétences des ONG impliquées dans l’amélioration de la situation des femmes.
