Abstract
De son véritable titre Le Parler des métiers. Dictionnaire thématique alphabétique , l’ouvrage publié chez Laffont en 2002 qu’imagina et réalisa Pierre Perret, membre du Conseil supérieur de la langue française lorsque cette institution était dirigée par Bernard Quemada, a bénéficié du soutien constant de Gabrielle Quemada. Si l’ouvrage lui est explicitement dédicacé, ce qu’il ne faudrait pas oublier, il faut surtout retenir que Gabrielle Quemada l’a préfacé et, ce faisant, en lexicologue de talent, a su offrir aux linguistes des structures méthodologiques précieuses pour tout ouvrage lexicographique reposant sur une thématique et notamment celle précise du parler des métiers. Au-delà du sujet traité, en somme ce que les linguistes désignent sous le terme de technolectes, il faut aussi percevoir un ton particulier, vif, direct et pétillant, au service d’une recherche originale et pertinente, que l’on retrouve tout aussi efficacement dans son introduction scientifique à la neuvième édition du Dictionnaire de l’Académie française, dans le cadre de l’ouvrage dirigé par Bernard Quemada : Les préfaces du Dictionnaire de l’Académie française (1694-1992) .
