Abstract
Este trabajo analiza las ofrendas votivas conocidas como retablos, que existen desde el siglo XIX en México y que agradecen milagros concedidos a situaciones que narran la vida cotidiana en la Ciudad de México. De especial interés son los retablos que durante la última década han adquirido un auge significativo para identidades no normativas (parejas lésbicas, homosexuales, tránsgenero y transexuales). El análisis arguye que los retablos son un espacio de subversión física, psíquica y espiritual para cuerpos abyectos en donde la repulsión y repugnancia son sustituidas por agradecimiento y celebración. Es decir, permiten a cuerpos abyectos re-apropiarse de la fe, cualquiera que sea, y tener una relación directa con la divinidad que de otra forma, dentro de una Iglesia los excluiría. De esta forma, los retablos representaron un sitió de contestación a la Iglesia y el Estado. Fecha de recepción: 23 de marzo de 2010. Fecha de aceptación: 22 de octubre de 2010.
