Abstract
Internet, queramoslo o no, esta transformando los sistemas sanitarios en todo el mundo. Internet es no solo una fuente de informacion con un alcance sin precedentes, sino tambien un medio de comunicacion sin paralelo. Aun cuando es imposible predecir la forma exacta en la que Internet va a evolucionar, la trayectoria que ha seguido su evolucion hace facil intuir que una de sus mayores repercusiones las sentira la relacion medico-paciente. Obtener el maximo beneficio de Internet con respecto a la relacion medico-paciente, sin embargo, no sera facil. Esto requerira, en muchos casos, cambios sustanciales en los niveles de educacion del publico, en la estructura y politica del sistema de salud, y aun, en la forma en la que los seres humanos pensamos y nos comportamos.
