Abstract
Résumé Le mouvement des squatters à Bordeaux constitue une expérience particulière dans sa composante institutionnelle ainsi que dans le jeu qui s’instaura entre celui-ci et les pouvoirs publics. Au sein d’un squat autogéré dont les leaders entretenaient des rapports étroits avec des acteurs extérieurs aux mouvements politiques ou associatifs a émergé une association, la Coordination SDF, porteuse d’un projet en matière de traitement social de la question des SDF. Lorsque les pouvoirs publics apportèrent des réponses concrètes à leurs revendications en leur proposant l’animation, qu’ils acceptèrent, de deux structures d’accueil de SDF : les résidences sociales, ils furent pris en étau entre le groupe de squatters qui refusait cette institutionnalisation et qui s’en sentait exclu et les acteurs extérieurs. Bien que cette expérience ait pris fin et, que les structures aient été confiées à une association reconnue et les anciens coéquipiers remerciés, elle reste riche en enseignements sur les capacités et ressources de certains squatters.
