Abstract
L’article porte sur l’adaptation du parti justicialiste à la nouvelle ère politique ouverte par le retour à la démocratie en Argentine. La défaite aux élections générales de 1983 a créé les conditions d’un renouvellement des cadres du parti et d’une refondation des discours et pratiques politiques qu’a mis en œuvre le courant de la « Rénovation péroniste ». Ce nouveau courant a conçu et conduit une réforme visant la démocratisation interne et la désyndicalisation du parti. Considérant la centralité du péronisme dans la culture politique argentine, l’adaptation du parti justicialiste à la nouvelle conjoncture a été un facteur important de la consolidation de la démocratie. La première partie de l’article analyse la genèse, l’ascension des leaders et le déclin de la Rénovation péroniste au niveau national. La seconde partie est consacrée au cas de la province de Mendoza qui permet de préciser l’étude du renouvellement des dirigeants et du changement des stratégies électorales.
