Abstract
L’ouvrage est un petit essai de synthèse sur l’histoire du Salon, étudiée de ses origines, au XVIIe siècle, aux années de son déclin progressif au cours du XIXe siècle. Il comporte un index qui pourra rendre quelque service, mais, en revanche, la bibliographie est d’une grande légèreté.
