Abstract
Le présent article s’intéresse au roman québécois au féminin depuis ses débuts au XIX e siècle et montre que les romans marquants de cette jeune tradition incluent toujours une histoire d’amitié féminine, parfois reléguée au second plan et presque toujours négligée par la critique, mais qui correspond à un idéal féministe de proximité et d’autonomie mutuelle et suggère une force de résistance au patriarcat. Dans bien des cas, on observe un balancement entre rapport amoureux hétérosexuel et amitié féminine qui confère au roman sa structure narrative propre. L’analyse a pour but non pas de privilégier l’amour hétérosexuel ou l’amour entre femmes comme « solution » romanesque mais bien d’analyser les tensions inhérentes à ce balancement et la « résolution » imaginaire proposée.
