Abstract
Si le mythe d’Œdipe est omniprésent en toile de fond des relations sensuelles et charnelles entre la mère et son fils dans de nombreux romans de Carlos Fuentes, l’inceste recrée surtout l’origine du monde, la Genèse chrétienne ou le début d’un nouveau cycle temporel précolombien. Des relations intra-utérines de Christophe avec sa mère dans Christophe et son œuf, aux étreintes moribondes du jeune malade Santiago et sa maman dans Les années avec Laura Diaz, la charge érotique est puissante, intense et lourde de sens. Mais comment le tabou de l’inceste se transforme-t-il en scène érotique crue et sans complexe ? Les lois de la morale sont détournées pour symboliser plutôt un renouveau, un nouvel élan nécessaire au monde moderne, selon le grand écrivain mexicain. La Mère Patrie, la Mère Terre, la Mère des Métis engendrent alors passionnément un nouvel être dans la fusion des corps : une réponse littéraire au chaos du monde.
