Abstract
Depuis le début des années 2000, le Nouveau-Brunswick manifeste sa volonté d’avoir « sa part » d’immigrants entrepreneurs. Le recrutement se fait prioritairement en Chine et en Corée du Sud. Pour le gouvernement provincial, souscrivant aux pratiques et aux principes néolibéraux, l’accueil d’immigrants entrepreneurs soigneusement sélectionnés grâce à leurs avoirs financiers et leurs projets d’entreprise permettrait de lutter contre le « mauvais sort » économique de la province caractérisé par un taux de chômage au-dessus de la moyenne canadienne, une population vieillissante et l’incapacité de retenir ses propres jeunes résidents. Si l’État poursuit des objectifs démographiques et économiques, les immigrants recrutés sont tout aussi stratèges. Manoeuvrant en contexte de vulnérabilité entrepreneuriale, leurs pratiques dépendent de leur propre « feuille de route migratoire ». Cet article met en évidence le caractère inédit et vulnérable de la situation des immigrants entrepreneurs néo-brunswickois.
