O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de realizar uma modelagem, baseada no método numérico de diferenças finitas através do modelo de fluxo de água subterrânea, MODFLOW que se encontra incorporado ao programa PMWIN Pro. A modelagem foi aplicada em uma mina de kimberlito, em fase de planejamento, do projeto intitulado Victor Diamonds da empresa DeBeers Canada na província Ontário no Canadá. O mineral de interesse é o diamante e está situado no interior de duas chaminés adjacentes de kimberlito que atravessam formações de rochas em camadas que atingem uma profundidade de aproximadamente 200 metros. Para o planejamento seguro de um sistema de desaguamento, foram realizadas simulações alternativas, por meio do programa MODFLOW, que originou resultados satisfatórios e bastante similares aos resultados da simulação efetuada por Hydrologic Consultants, Inc., e que pode ser confirmado por meio dos resultados mostrados nos mapas potenciométricos, corte vertical da mina escavada, extensão dos cones de rebaixamento e da curva de rebaixamento no interior da mina Victor projetada.
