Abstract
En comparant les romans des années 1960 et ceux de la dernière période, l’article se propose de dégager quelques éléments de la poétique baroquisante de Marie-Claire Blais. L’analyse tente de cerner certains mécanismes générateurs de tensions, qu’il s’agisse de la relation entre l’écriture et la réalité, des discordances sémantiques, grammaticales ou narratives, de l’imaginaire à la fois antinomique et fusionnel, de la fragmentation contredite par la vision totalisante de l’harmonia mundi. La dynamique de l’affirmation/négation qui semble constitutive du « geste sémantique » de la romancière s’inscrit dans les tendances baroquisantes de la littérature québécoise.
