Abstract
À travers quelle sorte de panoptique une communauté sociale regarde-t-elle la société dans laquelle elle vit et comment donne-t-elle à l’image de cette société l’apparence d’une totalité bienveillante? Ce texte pose l’hypothèse de la perpétuation, dans la Mongolie postsocialiste, d’un dispositif de mise en confiance façonné dans la dernière phase de l’édification du socialisme en Mongolie (vers la fin des années 1950). Ce dispositif ancre un type particulier de mémoire sociale – la mémoire sociale des exemples – dans un sentiment nostalgique commun mais très prégnant en Mongolie : l’absence des êtres chers. J’avance que cet ancrage permet de comprendre la pérennité de ce dispositif dans une société mongole postsocialiste surtout caractérisée par une situation de précarité de la confiance sociale.
