Abstract
Les littératies plurielles interpellent différentscontextes de la vie quotidienne, dont la santé. Leprésent article présente la conception de lalittératie en santé et un des enjeux liés auxpersonnes ayant de faibles compétences en littératie. Lesrecherches internationales sur les compétences enlittératie en santé montrent les liens entre le faibleniveau de compétence en littératie et les impacts sur lasanté de ces groupes dans les populations canadienne etfrançaise. Dans ce contexte, cette recherche vise àcomprendre comment les personnes ayant peu ou pas de compétenceen littératie prennent soin de leur santé malgréles difficultés qu’elles rencontrent. Cette recherche apour cadre une région insulaire de la France où lapopulation a accès à deux systèmes de soins, soitle système occidental avec les modalités de lamédecine allopathique et celui basé sur laphytothérapie. Les résultats montrent que les personnesprennent soin de leur santé malgré leursdifficultés en littératie, ce qui contredit à ceque nous avions anticipé.
