Abstract
Dans cet éditorial, nous ne réalisons pas une étude scientifique des conditions propres à la création musicale pour le jeune public; nous n’abordons pas non plus les fondements psychologiques liés à l’écoute chez l’enfant afin d’en dégager certains universaux qui permettraient, peut-être, de définir les fondements théoriques et esthétiques d’une musique pour le jeune public. Il s’agit plus simplement d’établir un « cadre » circonstanciel à la réflexion sur la musique de création pour le jeune public, cadre qui met en perspective les oeuvres ainsi que leur raison d’être. L’époque postmoderne a-t-elle une influence? Les contraintes économiques et techniques ont-elle contribué à la définition du genre qui semble appartenir à notre période contemporaine? Dans quelle mesure possède-t-on vraiment les structures de diffusion adéquates? Ce sont là des questions que nous posons et auxquelles nous souhaitons apporter quelques éléments de réponse.
