Abstract
Ce dossier a pris forme à la suite d’un atelier portant sur la littérature franco-ontarienne que Patrick Leroux et moi avions organisé en mai 2005 et qui fut présenté à la University ofWestern Ontario dans le cadre d’un colloque parrainé par l’Association des littératures canadiennes et québécoise et l’Association pour la recherche théâtrale au Canada. Lors de cet atelier, les études proposées, qui traitaient toutes du théâtre de Michel Ouellette, examinaient avec une insistance particulière sa pièce Le testament du couturier. Ilm’a semblé alors que cette pièce marquait un tournant dans l’élaboration du répertoire dramatique franco-ontarien et qu’il fallait marquer le coup en publiant un dossier qui rendrait compte de cette nouveauté. Dans cette optique, les trois articles et le texte autocritique qui suivent constituent un kaléidoscope de lectures dont cette pièce est le point d’ancrage.
