Abstract
Based on the concept of memetics and the life cycle of memes, this paper analyzes the phonemenon of a typical number Three in its cutural connotation and the evolution of its meaning in both English and Chinese as meme. It further explores the motivation and mechanism of its successful meme and provides the extensive useage of numbers by replication and transmission.
