Après les conflits armés salvadorien et guatémaltèque, certaines victimes des crimes commis, leurs proches et des Organisations non gouvernementales qui les soutiennent, ont essayé d’obtenir justice en Espagne. Cependant, ces tentatives ont été jusqu’à ce jour, du fait de l’absence de coopération des états concernés, vouées à l’échec.
