Exploration et conservation des ressources génétiques du pin maritime au Maroc

Abstract
Les ecosystemes forestiers du Maroc sont fortement menaces par la pression anthropique. Les populations naturelles disjointes de pin maritime, Pinus pinaster Ait., sont particulierement concernees. Une reanalyse des donnees sur des allozymes de Wahid et al. (2004) par une methode Bayesienne de groupement (BAPS5) a permis d'identifier neuf reservoirs genetiques differencies parmi les onze populations restantes etudiees. Des populations a morphologies extremes sont presentes dans le Rif, ou la deforestation est la plus aigue. Une visite de plusieurs de ces populations en decembre 2006 a revele des menaces specifiques par des incendies frequents, une regeneration naturelle deficiente et une taille de populations tres faible (a Talaghine dans le Moyen Atlas, a Sidi Meskour dans le Haut Atlas). Une nouvelle strategie de conservation est urgente, pour la conservation in situ des peuplements de plus grande taille et les plus divergents: Punta Ceres, Madisouka et Tadiwine dans le Rif, Tamjout et Tamrabta dans le Moyen Atlas et Sidi Meskour dans le Haut Atlas. Il s'agit de favoriser la regeneration naturelle, le maintien de tailles de populations elevees et l'exclusion de materiel genetique allochtone. En fonction des moyens, une conservation des autres populations est recommandee et necessiterait des mesures complementaires ex situ pour les petites populations.
