Abstract
La notion de confiance est fondamentalement liée à celle d’incertitude. Cette dernière peut porter sur des évènements non intentionnels à venir, sur l’« état du monde » dans le futur, pour reprendre le langage de la théorie des jeux. Elle peut aussi porter sur une personne avec qui on interagit. Dans la sphère économique, la confiance est d’autant plus cruciale que les partenaires de l’échange ont des intérêts par essence divergents. Dans quelle mesure le comportement d’autrui est-il prévisible ? Ne risque-t-il pas de faire défaut par incompétence, par ruse ou par malhonnêteté ?
