Abstract
La production romanesque et essayistique d’Hubert Aquin est largement connue du public québécois. Son oeuvre médiatique, par contre, l’est beaucoup moins. En plus de ses activités littéraires et militantes, l’auteur de Prochain épisode a également fait carrière dans les domaines filmique, radiophonique et télévisuel à titre de producteur, de réalisateur, d’auteur, d’adaptateur, de traducteur et de scénariste. Cet article propose une lecture des créations télévisuelles d’Hubert Aquin centrée sur les téléthéâtres Le choix des armes , Table tournante et 24 heures de trop . Suivant une perspective intermédiale, l’analyse porte sur les transformations de l’esthétique télévisuelle aquinienne, qui évolue d’une conception théâtrale à une idée plus filmique de l’écriture pour le petit écran, pour ensuite clore son propos par un commentaire sur le rôle joué par la télévision dans le roman Neige noire .
