Lors d’un exposé donné en 1948 à la Société française de Philosophie, Jean-Paul Sartre déclara lapidairement et contre toute vraisemblance : « Rien ne peut donner du dehors de la douleur à une conscience. » Nous montrons qu’il y a là un réel problème dans la philosophie de Sartre, et indiquons comment nous escomptons le résoudre.
