ResumenCon gran auge se ha observado como los procesos de subastas se han convertido en el principal mecanismo para la adjudicación de licencias de telefonía móvil en el mundo. Países como Estados Unidos, Canadá, Inglaterra, Alemania, Suecia y Europa en general, vienen empleando con éxito este mecanismo desde el ano 1994. También en América Latina se ha empleado en países como México, Brasil, Argentina y Colombia que a finales de 2002 llevó a cabo el proceso de adjudicación de licencias para la prestación de Servicios de Comunicación Personal. El presente artículo trata sobre el análisis económico de las subastas y tiene como finalidad revisar la teoría económica que sustenta las mismas, enfatizando en su clasificación, propiedades, ventajas y desventajas; también se realizar un breve recorrido por los disenos y procesos de subastas del espectro radio eléctrico adelantados en algunos países del mundo para conceptuar sobre sus aciertos y desaciertos.Abstract:With great height it has been observed as the processes of auctions have become the main mechanism for the awarding of licenses of movable telephony in the world. Countries like the United States, Canada, England, Germany, Sweden and Europe in general, come using this mechanism successfully from year 1994. Also in Latin America one has been used in countries like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia that at the end of 2002 the process of awarding of licenses for the benefit of Services of Personal Communication carried out. The present article treats on the economic analysis of the auctions and has like purpose of reviewing the economic theory that it sustains the same ones, emphasizing in its classification, properties, advantages and disadvantages; also to be made a brief route by the designs and processes of auctions of the electrical phantom radio advanced in some countries of the world to conceptual on its successes and errors.
