Abstract
Qui est le père de l'enfant conçu par IAD ? Le père social a les droits et responsabilités d'un père, mais le donneur garde les caractéristiques qui définissent traditionnellement la paternité. Cet article aborde la réalité individuelle et sociale de la paternité par IAD, d'après l'analyse qualitative du discours de parents par IAD et de professionnels qui s'intéressent à cette technique de reproduction. Le secret est au cœur de cette réalité car, tant socialement qu'individuellement, la dissimulation des aspects qui différencient la paternité par IAD de la paternité traditionnelle semble nécessaire pour que le père par IAD soit perçu comme un père à part entière et non comme un père « par défaut ».
