Le but de cet article est de s’interroger sur le syntagme « je suis un tel » dans le contexte de deux romans de Sergio Kokis, L’art du maquillage (1997) et Le fou de Bosch (2006). La possibilité d’une identité unique et indivisible est défiée dans ces romans par la défaillance du mythe du « je » narrateur unique qui devrait dominer tout le récit. Au contraire, ce qu’on trouve à la lecture c’est le mouvement inverse: la narration suit le processus d’auto-engendrement des personnages-narrateurs, qui se créent des « autobiographies » fictives dans une mise en abyme de l’autobiofiction.
